Benefits of Membership in the Nevada Veterinary Medical Association
WATCHDOG AT THE STATE AND FEDERAL LEVELS -
The NVMA works to keep proposed regulations and laws from putting undue burden on your ability to fulfill your career objectives. The NVMA hires a lobbyist during legislative years whose responsibility is to track bills dealing with the veterinary profession and work with the NVMA Legislative Committee to determine what needs to be done on behalf of the veterinarians of the state of Nevada. While veterinary professionals are busy tending to their everyday professional obligations, the NVMA is making sure that Nevada is a friendly environment for practicing veterinary medicine.
One of the NVMA's NEWEST BENEFITS - The NVMA has joined with the Veterinary Career Network (VCN) to help match employers with job seekers in the veterinary profession. If NVMA members choose to advertise job opportunities with the VCN, they would get national exposure to 7 national veterinary organizations, over 30 state veterinary medical associations, 11 veterinary schools and 2 veterinary technician schools. For further information click here.
Members receive the NVMA’s quarterly newsletter The Silver State Veterinarian, an informative report of the events and concerns of the NVMA membership.
FREEADVERTISING IN The Silver State Veterinarian -
All members of the NVMA can advertise in the classified section of The Silver State Veterinarian free of charge. Many of the association’s members have found this to be a tremendous benefit in:
selling used equipment,
filling positions for associates or technicians
and even selling a practice.
SOLID WORKING RELATIONSHIP WITH THE NEVADA STATE BOARD OF VETERINARY MEDICAL EXAMINERS -
The NVMA’s executive director attends all Board of Examiner meetings and communicates important information that is derived from these meetings with the members of the association.
When your veterinary practice accepts CareCredit’s healthcare credit card as a payment option, clients can select from a variety of convenient financing options, making it easier for them to accept your complete treatment recommendations.
CareCredit is exclusively recommended for NVMA members and in celebration of CareCredit’s 25th Anniversary in 2012, members can get started for only $25. For information, call 800-300-3046.
