Nevada Veterinary Medical Association Committees
Emergency Preparedness
Purpose: To protect the health and welfare of Nevada's animals in the event of a disaster such as earthquakes, floods, wild fires or winter storms.
Impairment Committee
Purpose: To provide confidential assistance to veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and their families who are affected adversely by alcohol and/or drug dependence.
Legislative Committee
Purpose: To keep proposed regulations and laws from putting undue burden on NVMA members' ability to practice veterinary medicine in Nevada.
Nomination Committee
Purpose: To nominate candidates for the offices of President-Elect and Secretary Treasurer, the vacant Board of Director positions, vacant AVMA Delegate or Alternate Delegate position and the Licensed Veterinary Technician.
Scholarship Committee
Purpose: To determine the recipient(s) of the NVMA Scholarship that is offered to third and fourth year veterinary students who were Nevada residents at the time of acceptance to veterinary school.
